Columbia River Gorge Marathon Albums (4 of 5) :

We got up with hangovers on Monday - too much celebrating after the Marathon. We went to see the Columbia Gorge Visitor Centre in The Dalles. Very nice modern museum with lots of interesting and well presented materials. Being the Lewis and Clark bi-centenial they had a special short-season exhibition about that. All very interesting. I was especially interested in the materials about the pioneers who came along the Oregon Trail in covered wagons to open up the west. Gosh those people endured a great deal.

We had lunch in the Museum and had just enough time to visit a few of the waterfalls near the mouth of the Gorge. Very nice - must come back here again and do some trail walking.
