Moores in the moors

One of our best friends is Gaylord Moore. I worked with Gaylord in London in the late 70's - a long time ago. After Gaylord went to live in the States, we lost touch - so it was a real pleasure to meet him again when I joined Adobe and started visiting the Bay Area. Now that we live in San Jose, we see Gaylord about once a month - usually to go to see a show at "Theatre Works" where Gaylord's daughter Michelle is Costume Manager.

Gaylord's son Robin lives in London and Gaylord went to visit him in May 2004. They went hill walking in the Peak district of Derbyshire. Here are some photos which Robin emailed to me. Looks really marvellous.

Anyway, here's what Robin Moore had to say about this:
It is a beautiful bit of countryside in the middle of England. We walked there for a week. We stayed at hostels the whole time except the last day we stayed at a bed and breakfast. This was to treat ourselves after the long walk. We started in Hathersage and went to Castleton, Eyam, Bakewell, Hartington, Ilam and finally to Ashbourne. I would love to tell you were I was in each picture, but I am not sure I can remember it all. I mainly took them to show off the beautiful countryside. A few are in towns and I can mention them. You may notice a man in some of these pictures wearing a hat or green jacket. That is my dad. I took them all, so no shots of me. :)

Here are another couple of groups of photos:
