Garden Party - Sunday August 7, 2005

Alan and Jen's Wedding (7 of 13) :

These are photographs were taking on Sunday in various folk's garden. Sunday began with a bad hangover. However I'd promised to get the photos on the web, so I got up and did what had to be done. 350 photos on the web by 9am.

We went off to see Ian and Margaret - my cousin from Scotland. Great to see them - it doesn't seem possible that they've been married for 40 years. I remember their wedding well. We had lunch at Elisabeth's with Pat, Stewart and Ian. Elisabeth's friend Shiela was also there. Veli-Veikko had come from Finland and stayed at Elisabeth's. Dave took VV to the airport for his plane home, and Ali and I continued on to see the McGibbons. Then Jen's parents and sisters came round for a BBQ at Alan and Jen's house. More boozing and another bad hangover on Monday.

Just to finish a perfect weekend, England won the second test at Edgebaston by 2 runs to level the ashes series. Amazing. Some people think this was the greatest test match ever played in England. Alan and Jen will always be able to say - "Ah yes, England beat Aus by 2 runs on August 7, 2005". Good for the trivial pursuit!
