Houston Highland Games - May 14, 2005

Houston Wedding May 2005 (2 of 10) :

After all the boozing at the rehearsal dinner on Friday night, Ali and I decided to spend Saturday at the Houston Highland Games. Very nice. Quite small games - about the same size as the Games in San Jose (Campbell Games).

One of our favorite Scottish Singers - Ed Miller - was performing at 1pm and he was an terrific as always. At 3pm there was a Ceilidh featuring a Texas singer - Sia LaBelle. Ali was sure that Sia's dress was in the tartan "Texas Blue Bonnet". So I went and spoke to Sia and informed her that mine was "California". Ali, Sia and I had a very enjoyable discussion which was cut short by us having to leave for the wedding.

Sia very generously gave us her CD - complete with a photograph of Cloch Lighthouse. The leading track is "I've never been to Scotland". Sia - I'm going to write a song for you.
