The Johnson Girls - Lizzie and Alice enjoy piano lessons with a very talented teacher - Pat Finlay. Some of Pat's students gave a recital in the home of Drs Hal and Jo Todd. Jo is also a piano student of Pat's. The Todd house is in Los Gatos and is a beautiful architecturally designed house. They have a beautiful new C2 Yamaha Grand Piano. Thank you Drs Hall for inviting us to your home.
Everybody played very well indeed - and the piano sounded wonderful. It produces a beautiful sonority - I was surprised when I discovered it was a Yamaha. It just sounded better than our 20 year old Yamaha in England. Afterwards, we had drinks and cookies beside the swimming pool. Congratulations to Pat and her talented students.
Andrew and Angus weren't with us today because they were at Carmel for the weekend.
As a little reward for the Johnson Girls, we went to have ice cream in Saratoga. It's more or less Penny's 45th Birthday. By the time we got to the ice-cream place, it would be June 6 in Australia. So Penny's 45 now - although her birthday's really tomorrow. Penny you look wonderful on your birthday.
