John and Nadine's birthday are only a couple of days apart on November 16 and 18. John's 18 this year, and Nadine is sweet 16. And by coincidence Michigan State were playing Ohio State in "the game of the century" in college football. This annual ritual is always the number 1 grudge match with 100,000+ spectators. This year however added the considerable spice that they are numbers 1 and 2 in the college football rankings. Somebody had to loose, and it was Michigan by the narrowest of margins. The Buckeyes (Ohio) beat the Wolverines (Michigan) 42-39. John's dad was hearbroken as he is an alumni of Michigan.
So we watched the game on the high def TV and Dennis & Felicity came over. Andrew also watched the game. Penny, Lizzie and Alice arrived later for dinner.
Sandy did the hard work of providing dinner. Thanks Sandy - you're a star. Isn't this great, we invite them to come and they do all the work! However it's really appreciated. Thanks, Sandy.
One other point - Andrew's to have surgery on his knee on Wednesday - that's why I took photos of the pre-op knee. Let's hope for a successful outcome on the knees. Who know, he might be able to come running with us in future. We'll see.
