Alan's Visit - July 12, 2008

Our son Alan came to visit on the weekend of July 12, 2008. He'd been in Chicago on business during the week and flew to California for the weekend. So he only arrived about mid-night on Friday and we dropped him at SFO on Sunday afternoon about 5.30pm. So a very short visit.

We didn't do a whole lot. We all went to Striders on Saturday morning. The club was having a little event a 'Predictive 10k'. More information: click here. On Saturday afternoon, Alan and Ali went off to the Mall to buy something. And we all went to Fry's so that Alan could buy a new web cam for his laptop. Now we'll have web cams everywhere for talking on Skype!

Sunday was rather uneventful. We were going to go for a walk - however we didn't get there. I think Alan was finding it rather hot. It had been hot earlier in the week, and he caught the last of the heat. For sure everybody at Striders thought it was easy to run on Saturday.

I think Ali was rather sad to see Alan go. We've been looking forward to the visit of Jamie in June and Alan in July - and now those events are behind us. Perhaps she'll make a trip later in the year to visit the family in England.
