Las Vegas - May 9, 2008

We hadn't been to Las Vegas before. The BBC made a program called "50 places to go before you die". They had 10 locations in North America and we've now been to them all. They are:

1. Grand Canyon (1)
2. Theme parks of Orlando, Florida (3)
3. Las Vegas (7)
4. New York (9)
5. The Rockies (11)
6. Niagara Falls (15)
7. Yosemite (23)
8. Hawaii (24)
9. Alaska (28)
10. San Francisco (36)

And we've only visited 4 of the other 40 and they are:

1. Great Barrier Reaf (2)
2. Sydney (8)
3. Paris (27)
4. Iceland (44)

I'm not too sure we're going to do many more - they are all over the world. Zermatt, Venice, Rome and Barcelona are in Europe and we'll probably do them one day. And possibly Uluru, India (Golden Temple, Taj Mahal, and Himalayas), China (Great Wall and Terracotta Army) and New Zealand (South Island and Aukland). So perhaps we will manage half. Vegas looked about what I thought. This simply isn't my idea of a cool place to visit. I'm sure it is a real action and fast paced place - however that's exactly what I don't like. Death Valley and Grand Canyon are much closer to my idea of fun than a place like Las Vegas. Anyway, we had to go to take a look, and now we have.
