The most famous sight in Yellowstone National Park is the Old Faithful Geyser. He earns his name from his reliable frequency of spouting. On average he blows every 80 minutes. We sat waiting for an hour. Worth the wait? Well, yes as a once in a life experience. We were first to turn up and decided to stand with the sun at our back. Our chums on the other side got a better view as the wind blew from their backs. Anyway quite spectacular. I was equally interested in the architecture of the Old Faithful Lodge - one of the most famous hotels in the USA. I see they are building a brand new building next door in the style of the existing building. Presumably once the next facility is opened, the existing building will be renovated and brought up to 21st century standards. We had the breakfast buffet in the Lodge. Good value. We had a very difficult night in camp. It was very good - about 29°F. The car was covered in frost. We were very cold. We tried to rent a cabin or get a hotel room - however there is nothing available. We'll just have to hope it doeesn't get colder. Still at least it's dry and quite warm during the day.
