Oklahoma City

Vacation Fall 2011 (3 of 12) :

Irene and Robert picked us up at the Airport when we arrived in Oklahoma City. We went off to explore the State Capitol. On Sunday, we found the State History Museum was closed, however the building and grounds are worth a visit in their own right. We visited the Memorial to the Oklahoma City Bombing and the photos are click here. We had lunch in an Irish Pub and visited the Route 66 Park, which turned out to be a local park with a Route 66 themem.

On Monday morning, we collected a rental car from the Airport. Irene and Robert were returning home, and Ali and I were heading off to get our kicks on Route SixtySix.

Oklahoma City is quite nice. It's not one of the great cities of the USA. The Memorial is a "must visit". Very moving.
