Day 24 - Sunday 23 July 2008
Rain, rain and more rain, would you believe the address of the Byrne’s apartment is 21 Sunshine Central, Sunshine Beach, Sunshine Coast? Anyway my handshake has worked and the Cowboys beat the Broncos.
We run to Café Stella for another perfect coffee. Merv test-drives a machiatto for the first time (no, not a messaratti!)
As the rain eases we stroll down to bleak Sunshine Beach, up some very steep steps back to the township to buy lunch; designer pie for Merv, health sangers for Liisa and Ruth with me having an unhealthy salami and olives baguette.
Having eaten we clean up the apartment, drive to Brisbane, arriving at 5PM. Ruth and I sneak down to the cocktail bar for a couple of drinks while Merv lights an open fire. Really, it is quite cool but I certainly did not expect a pizza dinner around a cozy fireplace in Brisbane. Craig and Brad join us for a very relaxing evening.
Bed by 10.30PM
